plumbing fittings
Does any one know the name brand of the fresh water plumbing fittings that were used on an 1985 F-36? Do you need a tool for them, the appear the have little metal anchors thet grab the fitting to prevent it from coming out.. I have some that are leaking and want to replace them?
my boat is a 78 so not the same maybe. is it compression type or this type?http://www.polybutylene.com/poly.

You can repair the soft poly water lines by using brass universal fittings. They come with a brass insert tube that slides inside the poly line. When the compression nut is tightened the poly tube is compressed between the insert tube and compression nut, sealing the water line. These fittings will not work on poly tube unless the insert tube is used.
Home Depot sells these fittings. I would think other home improvement and hardware stores sell them as well.

Sharkbite fittings will work great. The little tool to unlock them will probably release the old ones too. Check out plumbing or hot water heat supply houses.
They'll pry a rotten plank from my cold dead fingers before i go "Tupperware". http://www.photobucket.com/restless
