MTP, I can tell you some stories.

Post by reelfishin »

MTP, as the others say here there are no dumb questions but I can assure you I have done some pretty dumb things when it comes to boating. My son and I laugh about them from time to time. Most of the time something dumb things will happen when you are doing something and not paying attention to what you are doing.
Yes having fun and being able to laugh at yourself makes life great.
Here is one. One time while fishing from a dock for bait fish I was reeling in when my son said something to me. I looked at him and when I turned back to finish reeling in the lead sinker popped out of the water and hit me right in the forehead. We still laugh about that one. Life is great.

Another fish funny.

We were out on the boat trolling when we hooked into a large striper. Just my wife and me . I climbed down from the bridge and grab the rod as she tried to reach over the transom with the net. She complained that the net was too short to reach the fish. I grab the net with one hand and with the rod in the other hand, dragged the fish up and over.

After constant protesting about the length of the net, I told her that she couldn't reach the fish 'cause we were at high tide!

She said, oh, that makes sense! I explained the joke to her the next day... We still laugh about that one.

How about when the wife is on the swimming platform with a boathook in the eye of the mouring bouy. You tell her to hook it and rope it- that you can't arm wrestle a 36' Trojan in the wind. She mentions something about MYOB and how she has done it a gazillion times and the next thing you hear is a splash... still makes me chuckle.

My son and I would always watch this one couple put their boat into a slip. They never could do it with out yelling and missing the slip several times. It was a 21 foot cuddy cabin boat with one outboard motor on the back. When they came close to the slip he would turn the boat around and try and back in. He would always miss. He thin would pull forward and gun it back again . After several attempts he would eventually get it into the slip.
One had to smile at them.

We moved it back to a slip on the inside. We have not sold our boat and we probably won't sell it. My son could not see keeping it on the T.
Still are not sure about the Hydrogen system yet. Only time will tell on it. We want a upgrade on it. It does not last the whole time we are out so we can't tell if it works or not. We need a bigger system and they are working on that. What ever that means.

We still feel that the Hydrogen system should keep our engines cleaner. In other words keep them from carbon build up. Only time will tell that for sure. Engines still run like new.
We definately need a bigger tank for the hydrogen system. The tank holds the distilled water. The hydrogen is made as we need it. Safer that way. I can see somethings that need to be improved on the system and they are supposed to be doing that. I may have to design my own if they don't do something by spring.
