Tachometer Replacement, 1977 F-32

Post by Tuck »

i "axed" my mechanic friend to check a couple things out for me today, and in the process, "axed" about the idle on my starboard engine. after checking and adjusting it on each engine, he advised me that the tacs for both engines were off and really should be replaced.

depending on the cost, i may just replace the ones on the bridge, as that's where i do most of the driving. if they're not tooooooo bad, i'll replace both upper and lower helms.

what size, make, etc of tacs do i need? does beacon have them?

as always, thanks in advance.

hey tuck
out of 4 tachs on the boat all of them are off? how much? seems odd. i guess you could move them around to get the flybridge correct and not spend dollars on new ones unless you are wanting to upgrade too. if so floscan has some guages that i have been thinking about that would replace the tach guages in the same hole and give more info such as fuel data yeah

crap. wish i would have seen your reply before this morning.

i told the guy to go ahead and order the tacs for the bridge. not going to mess with the lower ones at the moment. they're off, but not super bad... you know me, i'm anal about stuff like that, and want to have accurate readings on at least one station.

yes, they're all off, according to the tool he used. i trust this guy. he's super sharp and if he says they're off, they're off. i guess the tacs lasting 32 years is pretty good, but time to be replaced i guess.

hehe. no. that guy is my best friend from school. he's not a mechanic by any means. he's just about as retarded as i am when it comes to that stuff.

not sure exactly on the price, wowzer. he told me the price, model, etc, but i forgot. when they come in and we slap them in, i'll let you know the model, price, etc.
