Garmin Recall

Post by k9th »

I just became aware of a recall that Garmin has made on their 2009 BlueChart g2 and g2 Vision SD cards. Apparently there may be some problems with depth contours and they know for sure one vessel has run-aground using the data in Swedish waters off of Stockholm.

I was not sure if anyone else was aware but thought I would mention it.

Have you contacted Garmin about this? And what were the results?

I have not attempted to get my charts replaced as of yet. I am not sure yet if I am going to. I have four of their SD cards that are affected but I also carry paper charts for the areas I cruise in - force of habit from my days as a pilot.
