IDA watered the lawn

morning all had to run one of my routes yesterday had a driver get flooded in and couldn't get her out of Norfolk. getting those boxes off the trucks in the wind and rain really sucked. but the worst part was coming back from Newport news to Chesapeake across the M & M the James river was beating the bottom and sides of the bridge I could feel it in my FedEx ground truck. and then had to cross the high rise bridge the wind had that truck leaning so much i thought it was going roll.

and today we do it again.
the marina retied our boat for us the wind was pushing her in to the pilings for the T head we're on. they said the rub rail got hurt a little but other than that she's ok. I hope you guys up north make out ok.

Guess the tide ranges kill you guys up north. Our range is only about 6-7 feet, but I've sat on my porch and watched 90mph winds buffet my house, dock and boat ...

Well, the Paula Sea servived the remains of IDA with no damage. People that stayed at the marina during the storm said the water was about 2 1/2 feet over the bulk head during Thursday night's high tide. A little scary. Most of the damage around the marina was canvas and head sails.

I heard that the boats on trailers in Little Creek Amphib base's, boat storage yard, were floating around banging into each other.

A 700 foot ghost fleet ships broke loose from it's mooring in the Jamese river. Also a 580 foot barge broke loose from it's tugs and grounded in sandbridge.
