Glue removal

Post by larglo »

Hi all,

My boat use to have carpet on the rear deck and in removing it, it left black clue stuck on parts of the floor.
I have been able to get some of it up by using a hand scrubber, but that's a lot of work.

Does anyone know a method or cleaner, to get this glue off the deck easily, and without damaging the deck surface?

Thanks

Larry

Larry,
When I was removing some stripes off of one of my old boats I had a heck of a time getting the adhesive off. Someone told me to use oven cleaner. I did and it came right off. I could not believe how well it worked.

3M makes a very good adhesive remover - quart can with squirt nozzle.

Oven cleaner works too - just be careful of fumes, etc.

I always use Goo-Gone for such jobs. Has always worked for me.
