I have removed my bridge surround from an F32 but that is unlikely to be relevant. I have previously transported mine by only removing the ladder, wind deflector and shifters and used a lowboy with my height at about 14' 6" above grade. Was able to transport it without any worry.

Route selection can often allow for moving high boats while adding to the cost due to more time of a longer route and the cost of checking bridge headroom along the way (do ahead of time yourself).
When you go to look at it do some measuring, take 20' tape...
You want highest point of bridge surround (check nothing fixed on console is higher) to ground, ground to keel then you have the height of the boat. Now with a lowboy you can get away with only adding about 9".
You were 14' 6" and went down the road? I was thinking 14 tops. I think they just want the work?

14' height from road is quite hard to achieve without removing a lot of stuff.
I'm in Canada and travelled on highways with relatively new bridges which up here are 15'+. There was one bridge where the driver had to move into the fast lane that's all.
While you drive over check the bridge height signs as you travel... you might be surprised at how much room you have.

There is also one of those for sale just east of Cleveland, in Chagrin Oh. The owner has had it in Craigs List on and off for a couple of years. Last fall he I believe he was down to $12,000.
