RWS, how close are you to yacht central in Tarpon Springs? I put an offer in on a boat over there. I'm in Pa. and would cover your costs to look at it before I flew down to look at junk. If you or any other board members are close and would be interested in looking please let me know. I really only want to know if it's at all like it's advertised before I fly down.. Thanks, Randy

You can PM me if you would rather not post on forum

Right now my plate is rather full.

It's about a 140 mile run one way from here, allowing for traffic on US 19 it's about 3 hours one way.

What kind of boat is it and exactly where is it located?

It might be fun to play surveyor for a day, however the problem for now is the time it would take.

I would bet there is a local surveyor up there who could do a quickie one hour survey which would not be too expensive and give you a professional opinion as to whether the boat is worth moving forward.

I do know odsome active members on the Boated website who live in Palm HArbor, which is about 5 miles from Tarpon Springs, and another member on that board who has his boat ina Tarpon Springs yard right now doing some engine room work.

Is this the 13 meter BLACKJACK?

If it is, she's definately worth the opinion of a surveyor. Priced way below market and if she is everything claimed in the ad, you would be getting the deal ofthe century.

RWS, It is Blackjack. I'm beginning to think it may not be as "advertised" The pictures are a few years old and I suspect the broker is less than forth'right. I thought if I could get someone local to look at it and maybe take a few pictures that would make me fell a bit better before flying down myself.

300 miles round trip is a ways. I though you may have been closer since you had mentioned you saw this boat on the water.

If I can get this deal moved along far enough I absoultly will have a survey done. Just don't want to spend the big buck if it's not worth it .

You're right if it is what they it is it'll be a nice boat to own.

Remember the movie "Caption Ron" and the pristine sailing vessel?

Don't want that to be me.. It was worth a shot I'll keep you posted.

Thanks, Randy

BlackJack was for sale 2-3 years ago in Punta Gorda and was listed I believe with Redfish Yacht Brokers locally.

She was originally docked on a private canal and then moved to one of the local mnarinas a year later or so.

That's where I saw her, however I was never onboard.

SAhe was moved to Tarpon Springs sometime in the last 12-18-24 months or so.

This town has hundreds of miles of canal front properties. It is possible that her owner lived in a private local residence and passed away.

Assuming the house was sold, that scenario explains a lot.

Why not call Redfish Yacht Brokers and see if you can get some info?

If it's bank owned, they want an end to the slip fees and maintenance of a DEPRECIATING ASSET they have been holding for some time.

MAKE A LOW BALL OFFER!
