:? I recently came across a 1977 Trojan, 44', fiberglass with twin 440 engines. It was in good shape. The engine looked clean and ran fine.
The owner is asking $74,900.
I am wondering if that is a good/bad price. The boat has only been in fresh water, never near the coast.
Can anyone offer any insight?

That's a pretty fair price if the rest of the boat is sound. Best to get a marine surveyor to check it out for you. Biggest issue tends to be water intrusion in deck core (balsa I think) which will lead to soft spots on the deck. Most soft spots tend to be around or near deck fittings like anchor chocks, etc. Stringers can be rotted. Again, for that kind of money, you should pay a good surveyor to check it out.

Thanks
Thank you. I will check that out. I have been doing some checking and I think for my purposes in older model Trojan is the way to go.
If I understand correctly Trojan shifted from wood to glass in 1974. I have found some beautiful old Trojans for sale in the internet but I'm going to put mine in salt water and I don't think wood is a good idea.
Thanks again.
