I'm not trying to pee on your parade, but you're not going to have to worry about it at $85K.

I know it's very nice and all, but someone at my marina picked up a late 80's Ocean 55' SportYacht for $59K last fall.

Good luck. Hopefully you can find a way to make it work.

All Ocean Yachts are JUNK, the yard at my marina won't even haul one on the railway anymore because the last one he did the keel broke.

What's the rules on mooring balls? Could you put in a mooring and buy a dinghy?

You picked a bad time to sell a 36 year old boat, especially one of that size.

Please don't shoot the messenger, but the 1985 - 13 meter BLACKJACK with fresh diesel engines, upholstery and countertops - even beand new matresses, still in the plastic is STILL on the market nearly 3 years.

She started out here in Punta Gorda 2-3 years ago at $170,000

Now she's in Tarpon Springs at $59,000.

seriously, don't be sad, I think you will be owning her for a while.

DON'T SHOOT!!

I am really sorry for you. It is easily one of the loveliest boats ever made. The classic lines are a delight to look at. In addition to Craigslist, you might cruise your area and contact any private homes with an empty dock, and offer them a deal on slip rental.

wow, totally sucks,
I wish you didnt have to do that, but I feel your pain,
Actually if you can belive this my marina has lowered their prices .
I wish I had the cash I would buy your boat in a heartbeat,
would you consider taking my F31,,lol you'd need a big ass trailer though,
I have been looking to trade up, to a woodie, but have not been successful, you would think it would be easy to do that, but no

by the way I just noticed, is that 85K or 8 grand??? 85K= impossible, just so you know, dont want to be a killjoy, but I have a very very clean and near perfect F31 glass and believe me when I tell you I would be dancing in the streets if someone gave me 7K for it

Yea, with Teak on the boat and even fiberglass gets chaulky... The teak would take the most abuse.

In my area $85k is VERy possible. There was one that was still set in the 70's that sold for right under a $100k not too long ago on my lake. It just depends on where you are and if the boat is well maintained and remodeled as well.
I might not get exact $85k but I'll get somewhere in the ball park. I have already had one guy interested the first day I listed it. We will see

He bought it the first day it went on sale. Owner had it listed (not even listed yet) for $85K or so, if memory serves....
The guy walked over, offered $59, and the owner took it. He said he couldn't believe it either.... the guy's wife died or something, and he just wanted to get rid of it.

The only problem with the boat were some surface blisters on the bottom that he had blasted and epoxied them himself. Fresh bottom paint, and it sits in the sling at my marina now waiting for lauch!

I'd have found a way to make it work, too.

Anyway, to the OP, I hope you get $85K for her.....it would just increase the re-sale value of all our boats!

Plus, I'm sure it would help you out of a jam......

From what I understand Ocean Yachts keel is not part of the hull the keel is attached after the hull has been removed from the mold and is cored not solid.
