To remove the black spots mix 1/2 cup of bleach to your 2 gallons of boat wash soap and water solution. Spread out with brush, allow the suds to sit for a few minutes, scrub again and rinse. The best part about this is it does not remove you wax. The spiders there is a spray you can use. Most West Marine stores will have it on the shelf. I have had moderate success with using the spray.

Better than I deserve
The Bleach will help clean mold and spider crap. If you have spider stains in your gelcoat, Clean the best you can with the solution I mentioned above. The sun will take care of bird stains and Spider stains, alot of times, after washing. I will try to post on my web site a few more cleaning tips.

I ask the same question right after I joined the forum,,,,"how to kill spiders"
I had a reply that told me to use,,,,HOT SHOT PEST STRIPS. I found out they don't make this brand now, but are selling under a new name. Ace hardware have them. I have a F25, so a bigger boat may need more than one.
I use to have web's that were made each night, a tell-tell sign of spiders, and I HATE spiders. But after hanging just one of these strips in the cabin, I no longer saw any webs. I was spider free all summer.
I plane to go to the boat today and I'll get you the brand name of these pest strips. The cost at Ace is about $8.00,,,but well worth it

Bounce fabric sheets hidden away in various places will help keep the spiders away.
...Now I just need to remember where I hid all them sheets!

spider s--t
At the marina's on Lake Texoma you can have a service put a net over your boat, call when you want to use it and they will have it removed and replace when back. Don't know the cost though but it seems to work.
Darn spiders gotta eat and there always bugs around lights at marinas, natural spot for them.

There are some sprays that kill on contact, plus leave a residue that the spiders don't like... I have used Starbrite Spider Away, and know some who have used Raid Spider Blaster.
Stinks when you first use it, but after a day or two the smell is gone, and usually keeps the spiders under control for a few weeks. If you use any kind of spray type treatment, don't just spray the boat... also spray the first few feet of your lines and power/cable/hose where they leave the dock. You might get rid of everything on the boat, but without spraying lines and any other things you have strung between the dock and boat there's nothing stopping a whole new army from climbing aboard.

I checkrd it out and the name was indeed,,,,HOT SHOTS PEST STRIPS. It comes inside a plastic cover that you remove at the time you use it. It also has a hanger hook so you can hang it somewhere in the boat.
These really work great. I saw no signs of spiders once I hung it up, (webs etc)! Just check the area it can work in and buy enough to do the job for the whole boat. (inside) They last 4 months.
Use the spray on the outside of the boat as told before.
Hope this helps.
