estimate gas per hour

Post by Trojan26NC »

I was wondering how do I estimate gals per hour? I think the boat will weigh in at around 6000lbs, engines are twin 135hp's I/O's. WOT rpm is around 4600. I am just looking for a rough estimate.

Thanks

I think I figured out the GPH. I came up with 26.5 gph at WOT. Now is there anyway to estimate knots at WOT? And if I power back 50% does my gph cut in half (13.5) or will it be more then that?

Sorry if these are really dumb questions.

Maybe a better question would be what are the average gph and knots at Low cruise speed and high curise speed on other F26's?

Thanks

Unless someone with the same boat and engine gives you some figures, you are left with experimentation. A GPS is great for measuring speed and distance traveled. If you had a flowscan you could plot consumption at any given RPM down to a gnats butt.

Thanks Danny. I guess I will just have to get the boat in the water and do some testing.

I was just kinda wondering what I might expect in GPH and speed.
