36 tri cabin windshield

Post by mark30h »

I just purchased a 1980 36 tri cabin and need to remove the windshield for transport. Anyone have any experience with these? Are the fasteners all accessible from outside the boat? Does the windshield come apart in sections or in one piece? Any assistance would be appreciated.

just did my tri fly on thurs, the winshield was in three pieces, I had to take off the two inner panels on the sides and I could just reach under the front, the separation was just at the end of the plexi curve. If you are doing it alone as I did, take the side plexi out apart from the frames, I have pics if you need, also a cordless will save you lots of time as will (gulp) vicegrips

If you have some pics that would be great. Did you remove the glass from the frames first?

the two sides I took the plexi out first, I had to twist the rail a bit after loosening the set screws so I wanted the plexi out, the front I left the glass in, will post pics when I get in tonite (left camera on the boat yesterday)
