yes, you have the nub won't fit the gen-set hole, it's a real pain in the a$5 to get the allen bolt holes line back up.but just take your time.

So you didn't have to trim any metal from the length of the EIK per the instruction on smokstak?

Well,

I did get the carb rebuilt (Not bad to do) and figured I would run it with the old ignition system first to burn off the fogging oil. The generator would not start. Now I am not getting fuel to the carb inlet. I suspect that the fuel pump is bad. I ran out of daylight.

We have been rebedding the bow rail and I had to enlarge the hole and epoxy to keep form getting deck rot. I will get to the EIK later this week or next.

Fuel Pump

Post by davidsmith »

If you have the fuel pump shaped like a round pipe you can remove one end and remove the plunger. Clean the bore so the plunger slides easily. There is a strainer in the pump you can clean also. You should be able to shake the pump when finished and hear the plunger sliding up and down. Will save you $$

Gardner,

I read you're enlarging the holes for the bow rail. I'm hoping you know that the bow rail is bolted into metal threads, not fiberglass.

On the midcabin, there is a 1/2" bolt welded to the stanchion that goes through the deck and is fastened with a fender washer, lock washer and nut.

What I am doing is enlarging the hole, filling with epoxy then redrilling the holes so that no deck coring can be exposed to water.

Thansk for the tips on the fuel pumps. Didn't get a chance to look at it today but I did find the facet fuel pumps on line for about $90. I wasn't sure if I needed the LP fuel pump or the silver top (1105). (2-4.5 psi) i think the latter as it is designed to run at 2psi and that is the spec in the Onan manual.
