Raw water pump

Post by 9rock »

I started my boat today for the first time as its new owner I had only heard it fire for a few seconds before i paid for it so the condition was unknown ,but paying only 3500 for the boat it was worth a gamble sort of speak

I started the port engine and the valves on the port side of the engine were clacking , it took about 15min but it stopped compleatly engine was running just below 160

The starboard engine sounded funny cranking maybe a little out of time but fired up fine ,smoked a little but that cleared out after a little while
that engine ran at about 140

I stuck a heat gun on both engine and got about the same reading so maybe the sender is off a little or thermostat opening later

I let it run about a half hour and the raw water pump started squeaking
the pump looks like it was replaced , I have a 360 275 I believe 85-87
Do they sell a rebuild kit that includes the bearing , and where can it be found,
