Trying to figure out if I can use this to replace my existing (broken) fridge, or at least if I can rip the electrical off the back of it and hook that up to my existing unit. Based on measurements I received it might just fit in existing space, but this is a flush mount style so it may not work (old fridge was 'under counter' style). If I knew the model number I might be able to at least confirm via schematics that I can reuse the guts, just in case I can't do a full install. Current owner not sure of the model number, but says it came from a late 80's Sea Ray.
Anyone know what model Norcold this is ?

why cant the current owner get you the model number from the unit? its on a label somewhere on it.
i am all about saving money but are you sure you want to buy a used refrigerator that is 20+ years old and have it go out also? were none of the answers give on your other post a viable option?

I have asked him the model number twice (via email) and he hasn't offered it up... I even told him where he might find it...
One of my 'things', is I am trying to keep the boat as close to original as possible. I tend to try to replace parts with originals or equivalents. Pretty much only the electronics and safety stuff (depthsounder, vhf, stereo, and a compass) have been upgraded with 'modern' equipment. When I had to replace gauges I spent weeks trying to locate an original set of DetMars, but ended having to replace with new ones as I couldn't locate any.
So, Plan A is to try to stay 'true' to the Trojan brand... Looks like this fridge won't fit, but if I can reuse the electrical guts I might get another 1-5 years out of my current fridge. $100 gamble.
Plan B is to replace with a new (non marine) AC fridge; we looked a few over the weekend ($200-$300). Even if I end up paying for Plan A + Plan B, that's still less than the $500 it would cost to replace my burnt out transformer, and way less than the $1000+ to replace the fridge with a new Norcold.

this article link below is also someone who also had the transformer go out. i dont know if you would be interested in trying this mod but i did find it very interesting and probably worth a try you are to the point of throwing out your refer. i have no schematics or documentation on the refrigerator but the article is pertaining to a 1976 unit which will be close to the original if thats what you have. if you are handy or a friend this sure looks like a worth while project if it works. really wouldnt be alot of money either. dont know if you ran across this while on the internet looking to fix yours but heres one guys modification.
