Bright Idea...Maybe?

Post by Stripermann2 »

Larry's post about bilge pumps made me think...

Even the simpliest of solutions can be had for next to nothing. I'm speaking of small parts, spare parts each and everyone of us may have which we don't need.

While no one would argue that if you can't do it correctly, wait until you can, got me thinking that a simple switch, for example could get another back out on the water safely, regardless of funds or costs associated.
So when we read these posts, if someone has a part another could use, speak up... It's not always about a profit, just helping fellow boaters out.

Larry, I will look and see if I can come up with a switch, they're not expensive but if I find one, I'll be more than happy to let you know and send it to you.

Stripermann2, that's what friends are for. Great idea. I think most of us that have been into boating for any length of time most likely have extras laying around That we don't need.... If you keep messing around, you might end up with boater of the year next time. :D

I am up for helping anytime I can. Usually, what goes around comes around - you help someone and when you need help it is usually there. That is why I offered some fuel transfer pumps to those in need.

i also enjoy helping others out on this forum. i think thats why we all are on here to learn and assist others. however i find it frustrating when you give advice and there is no response from the person your trying to assist. you never know if they tried anything or even bothered reading what responses you or others gave. just like they fell off the face of the earth. then later they will add another post about something else. i think in being considerate to those people who offer assistance on this forum it would sure be nice if the original poster would at least acknowledge with a response to you answering their post. or posting a resolution to their problem. i'm sure others on here would love to know if and/or when their answers helped. some people do but i find this to be the exception for the most part you really have no idea. not trying to steal the original but thats my idea.

That's a great idea! I just sent Larry a PM letting him know that I have a brand new push-pull switch left over from when I replaced them all on the F26. For the cost of shipping it's his.
