Nice sunset and nice water. What body of water are you on? I travel to the North Channel & Georgian Bay frequently and love it there.

Ahh, life is beautiful. Now that's what I work hard during the week for.
She was a 1969 36 ft wooden beauty with big blue 440s that we'll miss forever.

That is the north shore Lake Erie - Long Point Bay area....

The dogs love the boat....(she mentions "boat ride", and they freak out!)...lol

and, yes...you are soooo right! - life's weekly stresses and pains seem to disappear out there on the water... :D

Looks like a fun time was had by all.
Saw this 40' Trojan Aft cabin, twin diesels did not have time to chat so don't know the year.

Based on the emblem on the side of the bridge - early 70's.

what ever the year....that 40' looks in impressive shape.

The owner is obviously diligent in maintaining it.

Ready...wish I had a Whaler....they are worth every penny (just too many pennies for me at the moment!)

Nice pictures Paul, the boat looks great! I'm interested in the design of your canvas, I'm going to be doing mine over later this year and kind of like what you have. Is it pretty sturdy without the supports at the back of the cockpit?

ready123- is that one line run thru the bow eye of the whaler or is it two separate lines attached to the bow eye? if its just one, how does that effect the towing over just having one off the center going to it?

One line which allows the whaler to find it's centre point and maintain equal tension on each side of the line. When each side is fixed, as in two lines, then as the towing boat turns the towed boat will be pulled unevenly and not stay centred.
Inflatable users get away with that as the tubes mask the effect of going off centre.
I regularly tow at cruise 20 mph safely with this setup....

Hey Matt, yes it is quite sturdy. Has been for over 5 years now, and has seen some pretty mean weather during that time. At 24 mph, surprisingly enough there is no problems either with or without the camper sides & back.

It has also proven with heavy downpours and the camper sides all on, that it handles the added weight of the wet screens and sunbrella fabric without bending any of the supports.

If you'd like more detailed pics, let me know...I will snap some more this weekend.

thanks for the reply ready123, I have never had a boat in the water big enough to require a dinghy.

I guess it depends on the boating environment... when I had a 2550 Bayliner I had a dinghy so I could go places and visit other boats while the mothership remained in one place on the hook.
Here is an example of where I boat..
