the emergency start button when pressed activates a soleniod next to your starboard engine and simply connects the two batteries together. It does not turn the engines over. The solenoid itself is common and relativly inexpensive. If it is working when you push the emergency startbutton you will hear a click of the solenoid tripping then you have to turn the key to start. Does this answer your question?

Is the red button say emergency start ? or is there is a number on the button ? then it maybe a circuit breaker . is there only 1 or is there 1 by each ignition switch ? If there is only 1 total good chance its a emergency start switch if there is 1 by each switch chances are it a circuit breaker

It keeps getting better, today tapped on the what now i think is the breaker and the switch started working started that engin then the other and when I went to shut them down the starboard side would not turn off I had to un hook it from the breaker ,to get it to shut off .
I am thinking 2 switches and 2 breakers , are they hard to find?
its the switch and the breaker not the emergency start switch

Based on your descriptions and how corroded things look in the pictures, I would be replacing every switch and breaker you have. You said you jumpered across the port breaker -- if you didn't mess with starboard ignition wiring, there is no reason it wouldn't/shouldn't shut down unless ignition switch is shorting out inside or your wiring is totally f'd.
