On my '85 F32 I generally cruise at 2900-3000 RPM. Putting me at 18-20Kts. with a calm sea. Although I can get into the 4000 plus range, I rarely run them even close to that. Crusader 270's.
Just curious to what RPM and speed those who run gassers achieve when cruising...

On my 1972 F-30 with GM Votex 350's, I curise at about 3100 RPM at about 18 knots(GPS)...or about 2000 RPM at about 8-9 knots. I can also get well over 4000 and push about 28 knots but only did that one time.....

I ve posted before on this same subject also. In my 1991 F32 W/ the same engines as strippperman 270 Crusaders with FWC .I am turning a 16x16 Nibral propellers .I am getting the same speeds.
@3000k no wind or current I can turn 19.0-21.5 kts. On the worst case scenario with a heavy boat "Gear and Gas" out in the bay I will drop down to 17kts. What I am most concerned out there is fuel burn rate. I try to average 1 or better NMPG. That is hard to do a a moderate sea. The flow scans tied to the gps keeps me posted. I have had as good as 1.23 at 2950-3k and as bad as .85. The maximun rpm is 42-4400 @ wot. The best speed achieved was 29.6kt one time. On avg I only can get 28.5 On the very few Wot runs I have ran.
So saying that I get a real kick when I can avg 19 or so knots on a trip. The stbd engine was completely rebuilt last winter and the port just tured over 700 hours. I believe I will definelty get over 1000-1200 hours on the old engine. The stbd was rebuilt because it needed a valve job and the engines were already out because the stringers were rebuilt. Yeah I know I was very anxious to do something to the engines. So I got the worst one rebuilt for $1795.00. That was me breaking the outboard engine accessories down and phyically giving the block to the shop. When the block had new pistons,valves, Heads and timing chain and etc back on I picked it up. Me and a good mechinic friend put the other acc back on.
Know that I got to break in the new engine last summer I really cannot tell any difference except the rebiult engine sounds better "Throater". I plan on keeping the beauitful girl for a long time so hopefully the reliability of the newer engine will pay off.
I had her since june 2006 and she has been a turn key ever since. Very luck to own a 32F Trojan.
