Fuel Filter part #??

Post by sealilly »

Hello all, I have a 1976 F36 with Chrysler 400's. Just before the carb inlet is a canister fuel filter with threaded ends. I cant seem to find this filter and/or part # anywhere. They appear factory, but you never know. They are connected via a 5/16 flared fuel line. I tried a very comm AcDelco fuel filter GF481 but the fittings are too large, then a GF90 and the fittings are too small. This filter looks just like the AcDelco fuel filters that I have changed in hundreds of GM vehicles! Anyone know these?

Does it look like this, number 7? If so, the Chrysler number is 4142597 and available at http://www.marinepartssource.com You may be able to get a Napa dealer to cross reference to another...

Another solution

Post by sealilly »

Thanks everyone for the help. I emailed Hurrikain about availability. I have found another solution for my situation and thought I would share it. I used a GM fuel filter ($12) and a $2 adapter and it works perfectly. Below is the setup:

AcDelco GF90 fuel filter (long GM # is 5650677)

Edelman #124520 5/16 inverted X 1/8 Inverted brass fitting.
(got these at my local Carquest Auto parts store)

If we/I could find a fitting that was 5/16 inverted on one end, and metric (14mm x 1.5) inverted on the other, then we could use the hugely popular and even cheaper GF481 or GF652 AcDelco fuel filters.
