I have raw water mixing in my antifreeze system in freshwater cooled F32 228 Mercruiser. Do I merely need a new cooling system or should I replace both
"tube logs". The cost of purchasing a complete heat exchange system seems to be about $1,100 nad if there is an alternative I would appreciate it.

Thanks for your help guys. When it rains it pours. First I blew a heat exchange hose, then the autostart diode went, then I found raw water in the antifreeze when I replace the hoses, and then I was running th boat for a short run and the starboard tack went nuts and I lost all thrust in forward on same starboard engine. Reverse works fine.

The only way the raw water can mix with coolant it a bad heat exchanger
or you hooked up the hoses wrong ( cross 1 raw and one coolant hose ) How do you know your getting raw water in the coolant ?
you also had a trans fail look at the trans cooler to make sure no water is getting into the trans and no fluid is getting in the water .
