going in the water
well the day is here, worked on the boat till 11 pm last night and I have been awake since 3 am! At 10;30 this morning we are launching my boat at last! It is not finished but it runs great and as someone here said just enjoy it and do not fiddle with it and lose the whole season. Being my 2nd boat (my first was a 16 ft cedarstrip) this day should be quite the adventure! Well its 4:45 am time to go out and play! Whoooohooo!

Lake Ontario, Dave?
Congrats. Have fun during whatever anxious momenst arise. Have a beer on us. Keep us informed. Like RWS recommended, take some pics.
Of note: check the water pump impellers and if they're old, replace them. I had the starboard impeller implode and subsequently burn out this past week-end, subsequently heating up the engine and causing my wife to assume we were probably going to die. All fixed now but I didn't check them this past spring and paid the price.

thanks all! just got in, all went really well, had an anxious moment on launch when water started coming in around the driveshafts but Phil ( transport guy) assured me it was normal and sure enough after an hour or so it slowed right down to drips. Wind picked up so he took it to my slip for me and then I met my new neighbours, and gave them assistance in depleting their beer supplies! ( nice neighbours) will take some pics tommorrow!
thanks for the kind words all, and Rick I am at Brimley Rd in lake Ontario 12 mins from home

Congrats! I remember the day mine slid into the water. Very nerve racking experience, but that first beer on the boat with it floating feels good. You might start finding little things to keep you busy, fixing and replacing, but it is awesome having the boat floating in the slip!
Post some photos, everyone loves them!
