Journey - 10.8 International is for sale!

Post by christur »

I spent 6 months shopping and bought Journey in March with the intention of keeping her forever. I immediately put about $15k into her to get everything "just perfect for summer." Then in July, I get offered a "can't refuse" job in California. So, sadly, she's up for sale in Anacortes.

We were able to get in a 2 week San Juans / Gulf Islands cruise before moving and everything about the boat ran perfectly. There was some 5' chop in Haro strait best dealt with at speed so we did the whole crossing at 20 kts in total comfort. Most of the time, though we cruised at 8kts for the 1.4 - 1.5MPG we get at that speed. And the space for a family of 4 was just awesome.

The previous owner is a great guy and a firefighter - he had the time to really improve and maintain her and it shows. The details are on yachtworld (link below), but this boat has EVERYTHING: autopilot, generator, inverter, recent high end Garmin nav with radar, even Bose / Yamaha surround sound and blu-ray for the HDTV that disappears in it's lift into a cabinet, dual AC / heat pumps. There's even a repeater screen for the Garmin and the autopilot in the salon. This makes it easy to travel at slower speeds in from the comfort of the salon - you can nav and steer with the autopilot down there. I gave my mechanic a blank check to go through the engines. The exhaust is all new (everything from the block to the mufflers). New carbs, new pumps, new hoses, etc. The engine room is super clean. The Zodiac RIB dinghy and 8HP evinrude planes my whole family @ 20kts, which is a game changer.

If you're interested, please give our broker Galen a call at (360) 299-0545. If you have questions or want to know something that Galen doesn't - feel free to PM me.

I'm so sad to see her go. Someone is going to get a great deal on a fantastic boat.

Nice boat but you need to take the Bertram reference out of the add. The only thing Trojan and Bertram had in common is that they were owned by same parent company (Whittaker) other than that nothing to do with each other

Thanks for the comment, I'll suggest that to our broker. I'm guessing he took it straight from the placards affixed to several places in the boat.

sorry about your pending loss.

After awhile these inanimate objects become part of the family.

They carry us safely through danger and we develop memolries of all the family fun enjoyed on the "JOURNEY" along the way.

The "happiest 2 days" phrase is NOT always true.

I guess my first thought was that you were moving to California from somewhere in the east. When I saw you were in Washington state my question is why don't you just drive it down the coast or hire someone to do that for you?
