1989 10 meter mc fuel tanks

Post by koviak »

Any one pulled the pick up tubes on there fuel tanks ? My port side keeps clogging up, they are the 127gal. made by Florida Marine Tanks. I have emailed the company but thought I remember someone doing this awhile back. Thinking they have screen on the tube ends and is stopping flow at cruise speed. Happened twice now, Usually I remove fuel line and blow air back to tank to clear. And yes I have replaced the anti siphon valve.
Also thought about pushing something thru tube to remove the screen.

Koviak, I read your post on the other forum...
Have you tried to close off your port tank and run both engines from the starboard tank?

Does it run poorly the same, regardless of how full the tank is? Give us some more info on what you've done lately.

If I switch tanks it will run fine. Tried to run both off port tank before and and both engines shut down after 20-25 minutes. Most times I replace the fuel/water sep. and it runs fine for about 12-16hrs and will drop off again. I am thinking that removing the filter breaks the vacuum and tube clears only to clog again.
