Trojan by Carver
I just discovered this site and I would like to say hello to all and I was wondering if there are any members here with Carver era boats I have a 1996 440 that I have owned for 2 and 1/2 years. I love the boat and would like to hear from others that have the same or similar boats.

I'm impressed that I got a response so fast, I'm glad to see this is an active forum. I'm not in need of any info at the moment just looking to swap storied about boating and always looking for ideas on how to improve and upgrade my boat.
Thanks for the greeting and hope to hear from you and others soon.
Thank you LSP I didn't see your post until after I replied. What other site are you on or is this not a permitted to discuss here?

You are free to discuss whatever you want here as far as I know. We have at least one other person who owns a Carver and just loves to hang out here with us. Boating is our passion and the more we can discuss it the better.Audrey II wrote:Thank you LSP I didn't see your post until after I replied. Hi Dave,
Welcome aboard.
I believe you'll find this forum is generally a bit more easygoing than BoaterEd.
The website is sponsored by Beacon Marine. Beacon and sister Marine Tech represent what is left as far as parts and service from Trojan production in Lancaster PA from the 1950's through the Carver buyout in 1993.
The website owners are protective of the brand and it's trademarks.
We're probably the only orphaned brand with factory support.
I've never mentioned this site over at BoaterEd.
Nancy is here, as is Scott Gardener and Will (LSP - Lifes Simple Pleasure) are here under the same handle as the other site and yes, you can mention BoaterEd, BoatDiesel, etc over here. The committee will not show up at your home to beat you with the rubber hose. You may be asked to buy a round, that's all.
I've never seen Mike (Hogan), Starry Night or too many others over here. We have a population dominated by the popular F series owners and filled in with the tricabin, International and some Carver owners.
I feel most comfortable here and at Boatered and Boatdiesel, and haven't really been too many other spots.
There is no designated Trojan section at BoaterEd and other than a couple of now defunct attempts at a Trojan Forum ... TBOA (Trojan Boat Owners of America) and Trojan Boat Owners Club (Canada) there is no other forum as active or interesting as this one.
Folks here are friendly, warm and helpful.
I don't know if the Pulaski WI Trojan owners consider themselves Trojans or Carvers.
It might be a good idea to PM the Carver Trojan guys from the other sites to let them know about what's happeneing over here.
The more interest and activity, the better for the Brand.
Hope to see more of you.
RWS

Thanks for all the welcome greetings I consider my boat a Trojan in 96' they didn't brand the boats with the carver name. I really didn't learn the history of Trojan until after I purchased my boat.
Just to let some of you know a little about me, I have been boating for over 30 years since I was twelve on my parents boats. At 16 I worked in a boat yard for a while and ever since I've been married (22 years ago) I have owned my own boats. My Trojan is by far my favorite boat it's built like a tank and handles like a dream even in rough water.
I live in NY and do most of my boating on the Hudson River. I usually plan one to two trips out the the LI sound and visit popular places like Block Island, Montuak, Port Jeff and many others. Next year I plan to head North through the locks a trip I have made a couple of times but its been a while and I look forward to returning.
I think it's nice to have found a forum for Trojan owners the few I have seen in the past had one to two post a month I have already seem three times that on this thread alone. I stumbled on this site while searching for someone to make repairs to my bow rail damaged in a recent storm.
Thanks again for the welcome hope to speak to all of you again in the near future

Certainly are a lot of familiar names and friendly people I feel like I know you all already.
Sadly my season has come to an end, only thing left for me to do is shrink wrap and that I leave to the pros. Hopefully some of you get to enjoy boating year round so I can live vicariously.
Again thank you all for the warm welcome.
