I just rebuilt my 318 and tried hooking back up my cooling hoses and anitfreeze is comming out of my exhaust I was womdering if you had the cooling diagrams that had the partial raw water and antifreeze

I had a issue with a block off plate on amy Crusader a couple years ago. I trashed the old manifolds and risers but didn't notice the block off plate. need with fresh water system...

Jamie, do you know where I can get part numbers for the impeller, etc for the 318 engine.

I went back out to the boat, got a light a really looked at the tubing etc for the water cooling. I found out the the intake water first goes into a tube that splits off into two other pipes leading to the what I think is the trasnission. It then goes out a third tube that leads to a water pump, which is brass and appears to be brabd new. From there, a hose goes to the top of the engine to a snall housing that has two hoses, that go to each side of the engine and connect to the front of the exhaust manifolds.
I think there is another hose coming off the pump that goes to, what looks like another pump that is on the front center of the block, which looks like a smaller version of the water pump on a regular car engine. I am not sure what this is or does?

If I am correct, my overheat problem has to be between the raw water intake and the brass water pump, otherwise water would be coming out the exhaust. Only after the stat opens, would water go into the engine.

The flow diagrams shown are different from mine as they show two hoses from the intake (raw water) one leading to the stat and one going to the pump for the exhaust maniflods, where mine on the 318 only has the one raw water inlet which divides at the stat housing for the exhaust manifolds and the engine.

I will be spending this Saturday, when my son can help me, getting down and dirty to find where the water is prevented from getting to the pump or the pump it's self being bad?

The web address to the parts breakdown of the manifolds helped a lot. I hope I can find a place that sell all the parts for thye 318 small block engine?

I said the flow diagrams showed two intakes for raw water, in my last post. I meant to say the diagrams in a Chrysler 318 manual show two raw water inlets,,,not these diagrams. I can't seem to make out just how the water flow goes in these diagrams, to small I guess

I'm also not sure why all the diagrams in the 318 manual, I found on line, would differ than what my engine setup has?
