Ha! Guess thats why I had to ask - never dealt with winterizing ...

Caught 13 and missed 2 (damn cell phone!) Trout this afternoon. Kept 9 for dinner next weekend.

Off to Nashville for a few days ...

Isn't that what I stated? :roll: I've had the opportunity to disassemble gas engines that have been stored for winters without oil changes prior to storage. The rod and main bearings looked as though they'd been tattooed from the acids in the oil.

I do believe that Paul is right on the money with 100 hr oil changes, even if synthetic oil is used. Synthetic oils boast extended oil change intervals however the more hours of operation on the oil, the higher the percentage of contaminants in the oil. This can affect the engine weather it's used year round or winter stored. I choose synthetic oil over conventional oil because of it's ability to retain it's viscosity, higher shear values, etc. :wink:
