Newbee from the Northwest

Post by Larrys78 »

Hi all Just wanted to say thanks for the help on the rudder vibration post I posted last week. But I though I would introduce myself to the crowd
I purchased my 78 F-32 about 6 years ago. When I seen it for the first time it was in a very neglected state of condition and I've been restoring it eversince. Here ara few pictures ImageImage

I notice that it appears that you have the original helm station up on the bridge. But from your photos, it looks like a later model year lower helm station...very nice looking.

Jamie I was going to say just the opposite the lower helm is just like mine (77/78) and the upper looks like a Buddy's 74 F30 clean machine .

The lower helm is just like mine although I have toggle switches rather than ignition keys at the inside helm.

Okay, I did a little research. Looks as though Trojan played with design changes over a few years.

Somewhere in late 77 and up, they changed the F series lower helm.
The upper helm stayed the original style until 81. The F36 and F32 have basically the same upper console but some variation to the gauge cluster and location. Also, with the lower helm design change, I assume this is when they eliminated the shaft/chain steering and went with the hydraulic system.

Early version lower til late 77

And newer style, like Ready's here. Note the similarity here and the next photo. The upper portion looks the same with the modification to the lower portion and of course gauge cluster.

Then finally, from late 80-81 up...lower helm

1981 up, upper helm.

Thanks for all the nice comments it makes all the hard work worth while.
As far of boats go I have yet to see a 32 sedan boat design that fishes as well or is more comfortable that is better than the F-32 8)
