I did so measurements with a protractor on some photos I found rosss's at 21 degrees and mine at 33 degrees ,both with in the "normal range" no hard fast rules in the angle Just do to what you think looks good .
years ago the norm was straight up .

With the longer cockpit on the F36, 33degrees from vertical sounds about right.
I wouldn't want the tips to extend past the transom.
Probably best to wait and mount them after you find poles. That way you'll be sure. Try them in the raised and lowered position just to make sure you like them. Might go to the sportfish docks and look around and chat with some others to get some ideas....
I've been on a few boats that had awesome outriggers that were a pain in the ass because they were so hard to raise and lower because of where they were mounted. Mine turned out easy because you can lean around from the cockpit and do it. You can lower them down to go under bridges as well (back into the holders), but you have to go onto the side deck to do that. I would not mount them where you have to go out on the side of the boat to raise/lower for trolling! That gets tricky out in the big blue!
Also, You can't really mount them any further back or at a great angle on an F32, since you won't be able to get on/off at the dock. In fact, I would mount them about 4" further forward if I was doing it over.

How many lines can you hang off of each pole?
