holding tanks

Post by wowzer52 »

Does anybody know if Trojan installed holding tanks in the F-32 from the factory and if so what year did they start putting them in and where and what size. Trying to help a buddy of mine find his through hulls for his septic system so we can rework it.

I have heard people say the tanks are under the v birth . Or he could have a set up like my F36 did where the tank was built in to the head it self , I have seen other trojans like that ( all mid 70s boats). so you maynot find a tank per say. they may have changed the setup in diffrent years . Hope fully some F32 owners will jump in .

I have one centerline in the v-birth. Not sure what year they started installing as standard or as an option but my guess is around 1980.

We know where everything is except the overboard seacock. My holding tank is an add-on which is in the closet but in my buddies 84 F-32 the tank is under the v-birth. What size hoses/seacock is your outfall and raw water intake? We are trying to find the overboard thru-hull. Where do you think they put it on the 84 F-32?

On my '85 the overboard discharge seacock is in the forward bilge. As you enter the v-berth, pull up the carpet, lift up the access board and that's where mine is.
Someone may have run it under the starboard bunk. Lift that up after removing the bedding towards the SB hanging closet.

Or...maybe there is no OB discharge at all. Just the pump-out hose going to tank.

Holding tank in mine is under the V-berth in the bow, the through hulls are under the step in the forward cabin, total of 3, 2-1-1/2" and 1 3/4 "

I think Trojan saved fiberglass and gelcoat by installing 5,000 through hulls in the boat...... they're are everywhere!

3 for head system
1 for holding tank vent
2 for engine raw water intake
1 for transducer
1 for bait tank intake
1 for galley sink drain
1 for head sink drain
2 for bilge pumps
2 for cockpit deck drains
4 for 4 fuel tanks vents
1 for water tank vent
1 for bait tank supply to tank (long gone)

Holding tank

Post by Gypsy »

Wowzer52,
On my '86 10 Meter the holding tank is glassed in between the stringers just foward of the battery boxes and aft of the engine room  foward bulkhead. The three-way valve is on the starboard hull about 18" from the foward engine room bulkhead. I made this discovery from a picture on this forum though I can't remember which thread! Maybe this will help!
