I'd close the curtains if I had them. Just an open bimini on mine. I've used the lower helm a lot on long open water crossings in cold weather. I love the option of getting out of the wxprowlersfish wrote:Thats when you close the curtains on the fly bridge and run it from up top

I have them on the lower helm but have never used. But I make sure they work every spring and change the blades.

I use mine when its cool or windy and raining - driving from lower helm in the harbor or ICW.
I have manual (handle) wipers on my 26 - love them as they always work. But my pals have to crank on them .... good for clearing spray on the 60 mile (120 round trip) ride in/out to the ledge.

wow,, dont know where you guys are boating, but never been in those situations,
guess Im a Nancy Ass Boater, lol well, guess Ill consider replacing the stuff, but gotta tell ya, been boating regularly for about 8 years now, and now almost every other day for a few hours at a clip and never been in a situation where I needed to have my wipers on,
so maybe if I replace the motors and wipers, I really wont need em, but if I remove everythihg, Im sure Ill need em, you know how that goes
thanks for all the info,
