318 OIL FILTER
Hi all,
I will receive my new oil changer today, the type that goes down the dip stick tube ( haven't given up on my other idea yet) as I need to change my oil soon.
Having a 318 Chrysler engine, I was wondering about the oil filter. Can I get this from a auto supply store, or do I have to buy a special brand or something that will cost much more than an ordinary oil filter.
Where do some you get your filter for your 318's, what brand, etc.
Thanks a lot for any info.
Larry

I use Purolator Pure 1 filters on my Trojan and road vehicles. My LM318 takes PL30001 but I would just find the brand and number on the oil filter that is currently on your engine and crossreference with the brand of filter that you want.
I used to think Fram was good but I used one of their fuel filter inserts in my fuel filter canister and the glue that they use to attach the filter elements together disintegrated. I now use Wix fuel filters which don't use glue but a rubber grommet type washer to attach the two filter elements together. If Fram does that with there fuel filters then I assume that their oil filters aren't much better. Just my opinion...

Here's some interesting reading on lubricants and filters. You can also search Fram filters, on this site. Have fun...
