Panels I just updated (photo included)

Hello all,

Below you will see the panels I just updated.
It was incredibly simple and looks great if I do say so myself!

The darker panel on the right is from the dinette. It is the vertical panel that the table butts up against along the length of the starboard side.

The lighter panels are for the v berth area.
They are used to surround the bed area.

All of the parts were covered with the original fabrics and backing.
I removed all of that and painted the boards prior to re covering them.

I bought the vinyl and foam from http://www.loomcraft.com
They are local to me but have a great website and selection of outdoor fabric and vinyls to choose from.

I stapled the foam to the board followed by the vinyl.
I now have the padded wall look used in most of the new boats.....

Some bulkheads and all of headliner will be done using http://www.fabricmate.com fastening systems that will secure the materials to the surface.

It was a little work to get the stuff to look right but I am please with the results and ease of effort for this quick facelift.

Total working time about 3 hours.

Nice. Will be doing the same to mine soon. Also adding some panels on the ceiling with halogens that will slowly get converted to LED $$$. Giving the old girl a face lift.

Thanks for saying...I was rate this job as a no brainer for quick easy cheap updates.

Checkout this stuff before you buy panels to cover.
This stuff lets you cover over what you have already and then stretch vinyl over it.

It is a track that you apply around the edges of the surface and then fill the span between edges with foam then stretch vinyl over it. Easy and very simple.

I have seen it used in a new boat construction and it looks awesome and could be done by a well trained monkey!
