It is well worth installing the drain hose under the engine. It makes oil changes a breeze and is more effective at getting all the old oil out.prowlersfish wrote:[quote="risctaker"
Why drop the pan ? I have hoses where my drain plugs are and have done so on some of my past boats.
I have use the dip stick method and never had a issue getting the oil out .

Foofer, all,
If I got as much oil as possible using the dip stick method, is there enough room under the engine to remove the drain plug and install drain hose, without having to lift the engine?
Thanks,
Larry
