You're right its the best looking Trojan I've seen on here ! They finally finished a F- boat and put the aft cabin in and a camper top with canvas !

BOYS---- BEHAVE. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND!!!
to answer the question, i believe the f-40 was manufactured in elkton, md near northeast. most of the bigger trojan's of that time were made at that facility. she's a great design, plenty of room and well made. i also think, if my memory is correct, that the design was duel mode. efficient and fuel thrifty at displacement speeds, but can get up on a plane when necessary. the design was not that popular, why i have no idea, and only a few were made. too bad, i really like the classic lines.
there are a few for sale on yachtworld and i almost flew to pittsburgh to look at a fine example before i bought the tri cabin.
i really like this one. she looks well cared for.

a few more examples....
gotta love that 1982 maroon stripe! how 80's. also, one of the rare trojans with a KOHLER genset.

It's hard to say why they didn't sell. The __07's were the back bone of Carver when the model was made. And as we can seen the lines are close.

Just contact Bob, here, the forum sponsor. He'll send you a copy of the boat's purchase invoice, options ordered, selling dealer, etc. He'll probably know where the boat was manufactured as well.
And yes, very nice looking vessel you have. Good luck.

Thank you all for the kind comments, yes her classic lines are one of the reasons I bought her, and when I bought her 3 years ago I was single, then Sept. 18 of 2010, we got married on the rear deck, and the guest where on the grass and dock behind her, there was about 100 guest there, she has DD671 natural which are great, Lady Star is her name and she had several option add to her, the clear wing doors which helps in the winter winds, she only has her controls on the flying bridge. again thank you for your kind comments

tim, you read my mind. that is one vessel i would move over to. she's not too massive, yet the living space is amazing. the one in pittsburgh seems to be one of the best examples thus far. like i said, i almost took a trip up there to look at her, but then the logistics hit me---how the hell do i get it from pittsburgh to baltimore?k9th wrote:If I ever decide to change from my tri-cabin - that is the one I would move to. Great looking boat.
