Spring is coming....

Post by jddens »

This is intended to be an uplifting post for all of you that don't have boating weather yet.........

Here in CA, like in FL, we boat year around, that is, boat stays in the water all year. In the winter it is kinda cold (by CA standards) and we don't get out much....

Today it was about 65 and sunny with no wind, I couldn't resist heading out. We cruised around for a while then dropped the hook for lunch and some fishing.........soaked the same bait for about 4 hrs with no action, lunch, however was great.....no fish didn't matter....the sun, and shorts and smooooth water was fantastic, can't wait for spring!!!!!

P.S.....I coulda done without the joker in the 40' Silverton that cruised by about 50 feet away at 12 knots plowing a 5 foot wake.........knocked everything everywhere........ :( :(

I really think those "jokers" do it purpose, no one can be that stupid to be that close and throw that type of wake....

It was about three years ago two large cruisers were rafted to each other when this 42ft Carver went by about 15knts throwing a hella wake... I'm surprised someone on the two rafted crusiers didn't get hurt, everything went flying!

Heard of an incident down river above the locks where one large yacht's wake trashed two boats and never stopped.... the lockmaster wouldn't allow the yacht to lock through until the yacht gave the wrecked boats his insurance policy and name and phone#s... Most people think that once you're on federal river waterways you can drive any way you wish since its open water... not true you're still responsible for your wakes
You've gotta be tough if you're gonna be STUPID!
