Boat U.S. Insurance Quote

Post by rap55 »

Boat US Quote.... $ 4,518.00 per year

United Marine Underwriters...Same Coverage... $685.00 per year.

Filed a claim last year with UMU and they had an adjuster at the marina within 3 day`s and a check (less deductible) within 5 day`s of the completion of the repairs. No thanks Boat US!!!!!

Thanks, Rick

Your price from UMU is about what I pay per year with State Farm with a $1,000 deductible. I've had one claim when a wind storm shredded my canvas and they had the new canvas replaced with new SS frame and paid for within two weeks - total bill approximately $5,000.

It's funny that when looking into different things, like boat insurance you find out different things.

Boat US's insurance included $853,000.00 for fuel & oil clean up, I'll have to look and see if my Progressive does that. This is over and above recovery if the boat sinks.

So, in my quest to find not only the cheapest insurance, but also, the one that will protect me in ways I never thought of. I have some time before I have to renew my policy, so think I'll take my time and really do my homework before deciding on which one I choose. I'd like my a$$ covered, the best I can get it.

Larry

PS. My quote from Boat US was $188.00 plus membership of $24.00 per year.

Spill Clean-up Coverage

Post by rap55 »

The policy with UMW covers up to $800,000 for spill clean-up. Since I already pay $186.00 a year to Boat US for Unlimited Gold membership I thought I might get a little consideration for that. Guess I was wrong!
I understand that boaters in Gulf Coast states may pay a little more because of hurricanes but that's ridiculous.

Thanks, Rick
