STEERING PLAY

Post by larglo »

Hi all,

My steering has some play in it, 3" or 4", if I remember right? Is there a way to lessen that amount? It's bothersome while underway, I continuously have to correct the wheel to keep it in a straight line, it seems.

Have someone go back and look at the linkage to rudder while you turn wheel back and forth. Pivot points wear.

This may help identify worn components. Play in rudder box, link ends, etc...
