Newbie with questions
We bought a 1973 Trojan F25 Express late last year. The rear deck was rotted through so walking on it was a challenge. That was replaced as our first project. We have torn out the original carpet. Also removed all the wood that was removable and brought it home to refinish over the winter. Nearly done with that. Threw away the dry rotted curtains and have bought fabric to make new ones. So that's just a little background on our "cabin on the lake" as we like to call her. Now for the first of many questions, 1. Can we put window screening behind the 4 vents in order to keep the monstrous spiders from living in them with their monstrous egg sacks? 2. We read that a dorm fridge can be used on a boat. True? 3. Front windows over the bed leak. We removed one, used Boatlife life caulk to reseat it but still get water on the bed. Yes, the black caulk got everywhere that it wasn't suppose to! The rubber on the outside of the window does not run the entire length or width of the "glass" and I think maybe the water is finding it's way in through the frame. Better stop here, the post is looking like a book!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your recent acquisition.
There are several here with F25's that will be able to help with your questions. Sounds like you have a good start on the restoration project.
If you have photos, we always like to see them. You will have to get a free account at a site like PhotoBucket to store the photos on and then use the provided link to post them here. It is not as hard as it may sound.

I've been quietly lurking on the site off and on for awhile and finally decided to join instead of lurking. Well if I did it correctly here's a link to some photos.

Welcome....nice job on the deck! I use a dorm size refer on my boat. Use shore power when at the dock and it runs nicly on the 2KW inverter when anchored out.

Jerry - yes you are correct.
jddens - thanks for confirming a dorm fridge is ok
foofer b - we had it only a week or 2 then it went away to be repaired, 3 weeks!! Seemed like 3 months. We are proud. The guy who did it took cloth dipped in resin, laid it down on the new decking, then painted. Can't remember if it is considered a nonskid fiberglass deck or what he called it. We're just glad to have it back and be able to walk on it.
