F-32 quarter glass panel

Post by Stripermann2 »

I'm hoping Beacon Supply Bob will see this.

I'm looking for the rear salon glass panels which attach on the outside of the bridge house. Below is a pic of my boat with them but I'm hoping to locate both sides for my brother's F 32, in the foreground. I could remove mine and replicate...but like to see first, if Bob can get them.

Hopefully they're available... :)

my 78 f32 looks like the one in the front. can i ask why are you changing them to look like the other?
if you are swapping them out and are not going to be using them. i would be interested in purchasing the old . if not cracked. i have a cracked glass rear panel on mine that i am going to replace.

I'm not changing out. Mine (1985) has them. My brother's (1977) does not. He would like to add them to his boat.

i have only seen in person 1 other f32 other than my 78 and it was a 77. so i am very limited in my knowldge. i am looking at the pic and the boat in the back is yours and the white panels in the circled area are glass panels? sorry just trying to understand. is the actual sliding glass the same on both boats and there is another piece that is added to the outside? by looking at pics of these years i just thought the white piece was metal and the window design had changed. do these serve any extra benefit other than looks? thanks for your response

No worries. The piece is aluminum I think as I remember...I was gonna just make a template in plastic, cut and paint.

It's mounted by some screws on the outside of the window frame. It's stationary and is for looks only.

Useless Panels

Post by Rich Schwochow »

Most owners I know want to remove them. I thought Trojan put them in to trap spiders, dirt, flying insects, and to block a small amount of visability. Than again, they might have wanted it to look more like a Marinette. (Beer Can Boat)

Not entirely sure why anyone would care about changing things... If I am correct, the panels cover the section of window glass that falls behind the aft salon windows. And again, if I am correct, the backing of this area is normally black painted wood when you look through the window; or fiberglass in the cockpit when you look from the other side. I don't think they add anything to privacy.

If you just want change things for cosmetic reasons, then I would think anything in the right size and shape (painted appropriately of course) will do the trick.

IMO, the white hulls and configuration of the earlier models (like your brother's, and my '79) look better without the panel. But to each his own! (heck - some (ex) Trojan guys even like the looks of a Carver !!!)

Absolutely correct about, to each, his own. And ( current and ex) Trojan owners don't necessarily like the looks of a Carver...but tolerate, it!

I think it looks better with the panel and it makes look like a newer model .Trojan must have thought so too.

If you really want it to look good take look at JAV's boat and do it like that.
