I am lucky to be a member.
It's a private Club. So it's not open to the general public per say, but we do have reciprocal agreements with other Yacht Clubs on the Lake. Gated with 1 price for all members regardless of LOA,
It is great, friendly people and really nice. Part of being a member is giving 20 hours of work to the club per year, of course there are those who prefer to just pay their time and are charged $50/hour or an extra $1,000 to not get their hands dirty.
I was speaking with one of the Directors, who told me that 90% of the boats never leave. The most they do is the Pump-Out Cruise. Travel to the pump-out and then back to their dock. Go figure.
Some people just use it as their water cottage.
it might be private, but it is open to membership to anyone who wants in, as long as there is available space. restricted now to 33 feet. Otherwise everyone with a large boat would want to take advantage of the one price. Which is really reasonable around here.

I noticed that none have power or water or lights at the docks, is this normal for Norway?

You see; the boating season havn´t started yet. After it have started, the lights will come on, and also the tap-water will be there. But not outside the season. It´s too expencive.

Summer fest down in Denmark. There was more than 300 boats there, and four very fine days.

This "Captain" had a bad day. The evening befor he had been drunk, and his lady, "the owner" didn´t like that. As punishment he had to clean the entire boat himself, alone.... When I spoke to him, he promised not to drink anymore...
