another holding tank question
Has anyone ever used one of the two 50 gal drum shaped fresh water tanks for a holding tank? 78 f36.
My thoughts were instead of installing a seperate waste water holding tank I would utilize one of the fresh water tank's on board. My family and I hardly ever do trips or have use for this much fresh water. Mostly just the sinks. Keep in mind these look to be like 55 gal each tanks, Obviously over kill for holding. So the porcelain toilet's electric pump would draw lake water thru the seacock to the holding tank. I understand listing issues although once again hardly ever travel with 110 gallons of water. With the exception of a little plumbing matter does anyone see any other problems with this configuration?
If your talking original water tanks on the boat and using one of them you might be in for more problems then you bargained for. I just had to replace both of my freshwater tanks cause one rotted out. If yours have been replaced and you have plastic tanks by all means go for it, if they are metal DON'T DO IT! jmo By the way my old tanks were 40 gal. The new ones are 55 gal. I have an 84 F36.
