I had a guy out to inspect the fire system on my 10 Meter today.
He told me I had a system designed to cover 200 cubic feet and that I really needed one that covers 3x that amount.
He told me to go online to buy it, so it wasn't sales pitch.
In think the system was stock with the boat.
Has anyone run into this?
Shouldn't the stock system be able to handle a below deck engine compartment fire?

I replaced my factory unit with a larger one when doing the refit.
We added electric controls to shut down the engines when it is deployed.
Also added a manual cable at the helm to force it's deployment.
Fire is a big concern for the cause of a total loss for me.
Lots of lightning here as well as the chance of an electrical fire.
The diesels do however provide some serious peace of mind regarding EXPLOSION (different than fire) and carbon monoxide.

Do you have the Xintex Halon unit mounted on the engine room bulkhead? They were standard on the Internationals, they're even listed in the brochures.
I never thought about the volume, maybe I'll give Xintex a call. They told me the way to "check" these units is to weigh them on a post office scale. They have to be within a couple of ounces... I think it's printed on the side. Mine was within the spec when I weighed it last year.
I wouldn't get rid of it, it's probably fine. Maybe add another one to have some redundancy and make up for the volume issue if it really is undersized.

There are onyl a couple of things in this world I'm afraid of........... fire is one. I'd go bigger. One of my fav sayings........ "Piece of mind.... Priceless!"
