10 Meter Electrical ??

Post by Lumpy »

I'm working on the electrical systems: It appears that the Fresh water and shower pump are not working along with several lights, kitchen and head. Is there a switch to turn on the fresh water pump other then the one on the main panel along with the shower pump? There are two switches on the side of the kitchen right at the last step, shoulder height directly a crossed from the head door. Any idea what that work? In the head there is a switch directly under the holding tank light gauge (lights for 1/2 and full). Any idea what it's for, when turned on the red light come on but that's all I can tell happens...

Thanks

On the 10.8, the only switches for both the shower sump and fresh water pump are on the panel box. The shower sump probably has an inline fuse, and should run when the water level in the box triggers the float switch. If its original, it may be shot. The other water pump is triggered by demand, so it will only run until a certain pressure is met. When you turn on your sink, it causes pressure in the waterline to drop, which triggers the pump. You probably have an accumulator tank that supplies extra pressure to the lines to prevent your pump from triggering every time someone turns on the sink. The guage you describe sounds like your holding tank level guage, and it is probably showing full.

Fresh water pump and shower

I just replaced both on my 10 meter. I would suggest checking to see if power is getting to either. If it is then replace both, fairly easy and inexpensive compared to other projects.

Bernie - got your email and will send the wiring diagrams. Are you sure you have a mid cabin? The locations you describe don't match my boat.

I think you might have an Express, there aren't any switches next to the steps on the mid cabin unless they were installed by a previous owner.

The shower drain does have a seperate switch which might be the one your describing under the holding tank indicator. On the mid cabin, that's under the shower hot/cold handles. It does have a red indicator light when on.
