Weekend Outing

Post by Stripermann2 »

Took the boat with a few friends to Sharks Tooth Island on Saturday. Stayed the night on the hook with two other boats rafted up.

Sharks Tooth Island is in Nomini Bay in the Potomac, about 10 miles up from Port Kinsale. Millions of years ago, the chesapeake water shed was covered by water. Later, it receded and became what it is today. You can find sharks teeth and whale vertabrae lots of places along the shore and as well as in the bay. This particular island is filled with them and it's fun to sit and sift through the sand for the teeth.

Here's a few short videos my friend took as we are leaving my marina...and at the island.

Drop bow anchor, drift back...then toss a stern anchor and set in beach. Depth of water behind boat is a good 5 feet. Then rises up...at low tide. All this within 15-25 feet between stern and beach. Foofer, must be just you having an issue...
