hatch latches

Post by wowzer52 »

Does anybody know where I might find the screw in flip handle hatch latches for a 1975 F-32? When I bought my F-32 there were five out of six missing and during transport I had to tape the hatches down. If I can't find the correct ones there may be something I can come up with to substitute or make something up out of misc. screws and parts. Any ideas?

If you're talking about the slotted ones with notches and a thumb knob type, I ordered from Marine Tech a few years ago. They come in right hand and left hand, dependant of which they are mounted to the hatch frame. Talk to John.

hatch latches

Post by TADTOOMUCH »

I am missing one of mine and have not been able to find a OEM replacement that is all chromed steel like the originals.

Perko makes one that has a metal thread with a plastic lever. I used that for mine and moved it to the head so it looks like I did it for corrosion resistance rather than I can't find one.

You can get it at (I hate to say it) West Marine. It's about 10 to 12 bucks I think.

http://www.perko.com and search for hatch fastener.

latch

Post by wowzer52 »

thanks, right now I have no way of locking the boat up securely. If I find six of them at west marine that match and will work ok maybe I can part with the one OEM latch that I have. No sense having one oddball if I don't need to.

Wow was I wrong

Wow! was I wrong on that price. Looks like those buggers are 4 times the cost that I thought at West Marine. I think I picked mine up at a local ship store on the clearance rack somewhere. As I remember, it was a previously opened package but all the parts were there.

Shop around for the best price online.
