F26 Models questions
I've just signed up as a new member because I've just placed a bid on a 1979 F-26 on Ebay. Here I read that there are two models of the F-26. Can someone tell me the difference between the 261 and the 262? I don't have much knowledge about this particular boat and am also wondering what the original engines were. Thanks in advance for your help. My father had a wooden Trojan 28 footer. I believe it was made from marine plywood. This was back in the late 60s. I still have some pictures of that old boat. Thanks again.
The 261 has a single inboard. It could be a 305cid or a 318cid since they were sold with both options. I have also heard of some of these boats having a V drive as opposed to the the straight inline Velvet Drive like mine. The 262 has twin I/Os and has a raised floor at the back of the cockpit to house them.
Hope this helps
