not sure if I should keep posting but boat is a 1979f26 now...
I started to trace out all the plywood that was inside the entire cabin area and had real good luck as the existing plywood was mostly in tack and could be traced a few I can work with but the question is this.
It looks like Trojan used 1/2" plywood for their flooring and there are two pieces on the main floor that join "seam" in the middle of this floor direction of seam is from bow to stern. basically right down the middle . It doesnt appear as it was screwed down that you could access this area unless you took all the screws out . other then cleaning this area would you even really ever have to access it? why wouldnt it have been one piece to avoid a seam directly in the middle of the floor?
Sorry if its a dumb question just figured this is the last place I have to trace out onto the new plywood and thought I'd pick a few brains before I set it in stone.
flooring question

I am at the same point with my f28 though my interior plywood decking is intact and screwed down as you described. I do want mine to be removable as it is now by removing screws. I need to change fuel tanks and generally inspect a familiarize myself with where all the cables, wiring, hoseses, steering gear go. It is an area that might have to be accessed in the future again. I intend to place a vapor barrier and manufactured flooring over it as it goes back together with the same hatch section for routine access.
I am guessing yours is setup the same.

If you hit something hard, you may want to be able to get floor boards up in a hurry to inspect for damage / holes / leaks. That's why the ply should be easily and quickly removable, or at least big sections of the floor area should be.
In my father's old '69 one of the pieces of ply had a 'firring strip' screwed to the bottom of it (to provide a ledge for the other piece of ply to rest on). One piece was fixed, the other was removable. Do the screws holding yours down look original, or has a prev owner decided to add a few?

mine was made with the salon furniture built onto the deck, however trojan provided two large access hatches in the center. Until I removed the salon builtin there was not way to get the deck up. As for me I plan on putting the floor back in their original configuration but using comfortable furnishings rather than the old camper styled stuff.

no it all looks original , the screws are all petina covered and brass. I plan on bringing the old pieces back in the boat tomorrow night and get some pics. I do have the hardwood "ledges" like you had mentioned. actually throughout the whole boat they used these hardwood blocking , ledges they are 1"x2" and various lengths. I dont have any wires or hoses running in this area I just have concerns of how nasty it could get down there if I couldnt get at it to clean at least once a year. after this hull cleaning I never want to have to go to this degree again to clean the bottom .
