I want to send out prayers to all along the East Coast of the US. If you cannot take out your ' babies ' tie them down good and batten down the hatches. Hopefully the man above will spare us any casualties and let this ' bitch ' just pass us all !! Good Luck and god bless.

Worst we had here in Charleston, SC was 20 minutes of 50mph winds and rain around 11am Friday. We ha 24.6' seas just offshore here at the Edisto Buoy around 3pm Friday. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=41004

My boat was fine - even used this as an excuse to fire it up.

Glad its slowed to 90mph when it came ashore at Morehead city & Cape Lookout.

Hope she continues to slow!

Good luck to all!

Surprised Norfolk lost power already ... but those outer bands can be 50-70mph and lots of rain. If a tree falls, it takes out lines.

Looks like Virginia Beach is the next big city in its path ...

the areas around the bay are getting the worst of it so far, and those are the ones with overhead power lines.

I hauled my boat yesterday. Not feeling good at all.... if the surge is anywhere near what they say, it's going to float right off the blocks.

I left the drain plug in thinking if it did start floating at least it wouldn't sink (right away). I'm almost wondering if letting some water IN wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Will try and get there in the morning and see how it's doing.

Bob,

You never know what these things will bring, but I've never experienced a storm surge anywhere near what they forecast.

We've had a half dozen storms in the last 20 years and all of them predicted decent surge. None was more than a few feet.

Good luck.
